News & Updates For Our Class Action and Mass Tort Cases
Mass torts and class actions are both types of lawsuits that involve a large group of people with claims against a common defendant, but they differ in several ways. Often mass torts are because while there is a common defendant, the damages to each plaintiff are different even if the action is the same. In a class action, the plaintiffs not only share the common defendant and the causing action but the damages are extremely similar in nature.

Clergy abuse
Currently claims against the New Orleans Archdiocese are still pending resolution in the US Bankruptcy Court. The plaintiffs’ attorney group are working diligently to come to a resolution as quickly as possible. We do not have an anticipated date for resolution at this time.

Dow Chemical – Hahnville
The case has been set for trial in October 2025. There will be randomly selected claimants chosen by both the plaintiffs and defendants to represent the majority at trial. We are anticipating a liability trial with the new judge assigned to the case. Additional information will be provided as it is made known.
