Opioid Claim Settlement Update
Can I still file an opioid claim?
If you are submitting a claim on behalf of a person who has been diagnosed by a licensed medical provider with a medical, physical, cognitive or emotional condition resulting from intrauterine exposure to opioids (a “NAS Personal Injury Claim”), the deadline is June 15, 2025.
Who gets money from the opioid settlement?
The settlement agreements provide default allocations among the subfunds (15% to the State Fund, 70% to the Abatement Accounts Fund, and 15% to the Subdivision Fund).
Purdue Pharma Update:
Those settlements have totaled more than $50 billion. But the Purdue Pharma settlement would have been only the second so far to include direct payments to victims from a $750 million pool. Payouts would have ranged from about $3,500 to $48,000. (Jun 27, 2024)

Endo Opioid Settlement:
On March 15, 2024, the Claims Administrator conducted the initial distribution of the Net Settlement Fund to eligible claimants.
Mallinckrodt Settlement:
As part of its previous bankruptcy, Mallinckrodt, which denied wrongdoing, agreed to pay $1.7 billion to settle about 3,000 lawsuits alleging it used deceptive marketing tactics to boost opioid sales. The new bankruptcy reduces that to $700 million, all of which has already been paid to a settlement trust. (Oct 10, 2023) Currently the bankruptcy is ongoing. (Jan 14, 2025)
